Some women collect shoes; I collect songs. For years I sang many of these songs in a classical recital format and while it worked pretty well, there were so many songs that didn’t fit into that format. I wanted to commune with the audience, share stories, weave the songs together.

Enter cabaret. Bingo. I was hooked. I started to collaborate with incredible musician and performer, Jeff McDonnell. I rented the Red Room at Society Hill Playhouse in Philadelphia. I put out the word. Next thing I knew, people started to view my fine collection: travel songs, food ditties, life ballads – all in one convivial evening of entertainment. With an overwhelming response to my new foray, I expanded my performances to other venues in the Delaware Valley (Bryn Mawr Film Institute, Gershman Y) and even to far-flung corners of the globe (The Arts House in Singapore).

After years of searching, I had finally found the way to show off my most precious collection. When I create a cabaret, the best elements of all of my talents converge into an explosion of all that it is to be alive, to be a human, to be Heidi Hayes.

So please, click away and enjoy. If you like what you hear, join us live! Or inquire about corporate or private party entertainment possibilities. Thanks for taking the time to visit. We hope you can make it out to experience an evening of song!

Looking for a classy, entertaining evening for your clients or employees? Look no further. Jeff McDonnell and I presently have 3 different cabaret shows to offer to you. Take a look:
"If Life Were Like The Movies" Cabaret

If Life Were Like The Movies is a wacky, wonderful look at what it would be like to really live in the movies. In the movies, you meet the most interesting characters (like superheroes, aliens and princesses), the good guys always win (okay, maybe they don’t), espionage and larceny are legitimate career paths, and, if you screw up, you get to try again – in the sequel! This evening includes songs by great movie composers Henry Mancini, Marilyn and Alan Bergman, John Williams, Alan Menken, Stephen Schwartz and a gazillion others.

"Songs of My Life" Cabaret

In Songs of My Life, I sing songs and tell stories that are, well, about my life! We’ve got songs about performing, traveling and food, just to name a few. You’ll hear music by the Gershwin brothers, Jerry Herman, Noel Coward, Billy Joel and many others. Oh…and Jeff sings….and I play the piano. Now how often do you get that in a cabaret evening?

"Call It" Cabaret
Photo Coming Soon!

Call It Cabaret, our first show, is still a favorite. This one has a little bit for everyone. There’s a group of Harold Arlen songs (that was Jeff’s idea), a classic Broadway set, and a huge favorite: the TV theme song medley. People still ask for that one and we premiered this show over two years ago!
